Oh yes :) Its a very familiar story indeed. My daughter's preschool teacher took me aside one day, and in a very confused voice said to me, 'you know A's cooks pretend food, then takes it to the table, and then takes a picture with the toy camera before pretending to eat.'

I turned pink :) Kids are indeed so precious!!

I'm pretty late to this conversation, I was just looking for an idea for proportions that others use to make this dish. I've been making it since I was a teen, and have made it both as a baked dish and in a chinese hot pot on a stove when I was homesick and desperate this one time when I lived in Hong Kong. It turned out surprisingly well!

Hello! you are from Edmonton? I am from Calgary but originaly from the Czech REpublic, where Linden tree is our national tree and I had no Idea it can grow in Alberta!!! I have to plant one soon in our back yard then((: Love the tea, the best there is and my regards to your Dad, it breaks my heart to think of the vegetation from eastern europe that we don't get here! Trevor: I haven't been to garlic festival yet but I WOULD LOVE TO! I'd happily stink to they high heavens for it :) You are correct about people not knowing what to do with them. I'm so used to my dad pulling leeks out of the garden every year, I guess they are second nature to me. :)
