d'Lish Urban Kitchen and Wine Bar in Edmonton

I found myself out Monday night with a girlfriend at the newly re-opened d'Lish Urban Kitchen and Wine Bar. Formerly a meal assembly studio, the new d'Lish won't be asking you to assemble any of your food.

Modern glass tables, funky chandeliers and dim, sexy lighting only adds to the luxe food coming out of the kitchen and the selection of wines from the bar. The slick and hip new space will be a serious go-to place for date night or for those who simply want to enjoy small plates and fine wine while catching up with friends.

We sipped our selection of red wines while waiting for our plate. The trio of grilled cheese sandwiches, each with different cheeses, was the perfect blend of crispy, grid-marked exterior and soft, gooey insides. I absolutely loved the homemade, sweet but tangy, catsup.

The best part, for me, was the dessert. The trio of freshly-made ice creams and toppings, (dark chocolate ice cream with cognac, pumpkin ice cream topped with caramel and vanilla bean ice cream with a berry coulis) was a fantastic way to end the evening.

124th Street just keeps getting better .

The owner said that they haven't advertised they have opened yet. They will be doing media coverage in October but doing a soft, slow open for now.

We walked by the other day and took a peak at the menu - the cheese plate looked quite appealing to hubby - as did the decor. It was quite busy too. I am sure we will check it out this winter. It is nice that the neighbourhood is getting better and better!

Oh yes, cheese plate. That does sound good. I'll have to give that one a go.
